Anyone know why game.dat is not responding on windows 11? I restarted and verified the integrity of the files and still nothing.

AND generals saying "Make sure you have Directx 8.1 or higher" messages. OR BOTH. I HAVE THE SOLUTION FOR YOU. Install the game as usual, download and install the latest patch. and inside these folders, you should create a txt file called "options.ini".
The reason for these errors is the game.dat file. I just put my disc of Generals 1 and ask to repair. Yes it repaired my ZH game.dat, must have been something missing and it repaired it. Now, I still want to change my MaxCameraHeight. I already download the genpatch and put already the option.ini (where you create notepad and put the copied text). But still it doesnt work. I use windows 11.
